Our Foods 1 students rolled into the holiday spirit yesterday!

They created homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch, learning valuable hands-on skills in measuring, mixing, kneading, and baking. This activity wasn’t just delicious—it was educational, helping students understand the science behind yeast dough and the importance of following multi-step recipes.

Working together in the kitchen also encouraged teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. The warm aroma of cinnamon and sugar filled the room, making the experience feel extra cozy and perfect for the Christmas season.

We’re proud of their hard work—and even prouder of how they support one another as they learn!

🎄 Christmas Movie Showcase Fun! 🎬

This afternoon, our students enjoyed a special Christmas Movie Showcase! They were given the choice of four festive movies—Home Alone, Elf, The Grinch, or The Santa Clause—each playing in different “studios” across the school.

To make the afternoon even sweeter, students were treated to hot cocoa and their choice of delicious cookies while they watched. Nothing like warm treats and holiday classics to kick off the Christmas spirit! ❤️💚

A big thank you to our staff for creating such a cozy and memorable experience for our students.

💼 Financial Literacy in Action! 💰

Representatives from the NC State Employees' Credit Union visited Mr. Wise’s Economics and Personal Finance classes this week, giving students a hands-on look at real-world money management.

During the session, students built their own budgets and explored how to balance fixed and variable expenses—including student loans, groceries, clothing, car payments, and housing costs. They also learned how credit scores impact the cars and homes they can qualify for, as well as the benefits and risks of using credit cards.

This valuable program helped students understand how smart decisions today can shape their financial futures.

A huge thank you to the SECU team from the King branch for investing in Stokes County students and supporting financial literacy in our schools! 🙌💳📊

Thursday, North Stokes seniors heard from Forsyth Tech’s Wes McGarry about the LEAP@ForsythTech program and the pathways it offers into high-demand, well-paid careers. Students learned how this two- to three-year Learn and Earn Apprenticeship Program allows participants to work, learn, and get paid while completing a Forsyth Tech certificate, diploma, or degree.

LEAP apprentices:
• Are employed by an approved industry partner
• Receive mentorship from experienced professionals
• Get paid time away from work to attend classes
• Earn increased wages as skills grow
• Gain a state and national Journeyworker credential upon completion

Best of all, eligible students can have their tuition, books, and fees covered at no cost, making this a truly debt-free path into a skilled career.

✨ Fellowship of Christian Students – Christmas Message ✨

The Fellowship of Christian Students gathered in the media center this morning for a special Christmas devotional. Neal Marshall shared an uplifting message from Isaiah 9:2, 6, a passage that beautifully points to the birth of Jesus and the hope He brings to the world.

Students reflected on the prophecy that “the people walking in darkness have seen a great light” and the promise of a child who would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. As we move deeper into the Christmas season, it was a meaningful reminder of the true reason we celebrate—Christ’s light, peace, and everlasting joy.

We are grateful for this time of fellowship, and for everyone who joined us to start the day centered on faith and the message of Christmas. 🌟🎄✨

Next week FCS will meet in the gym.

🙏 Morning Blessings with the Fellowship of Christian Students 🙌

The Fellowship of Christian Students gathered this morning for an inspiring time of worship and reflection. Neal Marshall joined the group and shared a heartfelt message focused on giving thanks to God, drawing from the powerful words of Psalm 100.

Neal reminded students that Psalm 100 is a call to joyful praise—a reminder to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord,” to serve with gladness, and to enter God’s presence with thanksgiving. He encouraged students to recognize God’s goodness in their daily lives and to remember that “His love endures forever and His faithfulness continues through all generations.”

The message was a meaningful reminder to approach each day with gratitude, especially as we move into the holiday season. We are proud of our FCS students for continuing to grow in faith, fellowship, and encouragement each week. 🙌💚💙

Thanks to your support, we collected over 1,500 food items to be delivered to the North Stokes Food Pantry, helping families in our community during the holiday season.

The National Honor Society led this two-week initiative, organizing and promoting the effort across campus. Participation was strong, with 10th grade earning 1st place by donating an impressive 713 items, followed by 11th grade with 673 items.
