Tomorrow is Unity Day.
Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying
Prevention Center in October 2011, is the
signature event of National Bullying Prevention
Month.
This is a day when we can come
together to send a visible message of building
commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and
inclusion. The call to action is simple: wear and
share the color ORANGE. This vibrant statement
becomes a conversation starter, showing support
for students who have been bullied and for
bullying prevention.
Join us by wearing ORANGE tomorrow in support of bullying prevention!

Kids are reading less, screen time is increasing, and school budgets are
tight. On a mission to make reading cool again, Sabrina Moore, our Media Coordinator, decided to meet with the team at Books Are Fun to learn more about their book
enrichment program – Book Blast.
With its innovative approach to creating more book worms, Book Blast
guarantees at least one new book into the hands of every student at
absolutely no cost to the school, little work from the school team, and no
financial requirement of the parents. After reviewing the program and
understanding there was zero risk to the school, Mrs. Moore moved
forward and scheduled Book Blast to launch at Nancy Reynolds Elementary
School on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 .
In two short weeks, with the help of the community (far and wide), the
students at Nancy Reynolds Elementary School had over 886 brand new,
age-appropriate books headed their way!
Mrs. Moore says, “I am so thankful for the folks in our families and community who have stepped up and made donations so that our Dragons have new books in their homes,
classroom libraries and in the school library! It is a GREAT day to be a
Dragon!”
Our Dragons have a message for those who made this Book Blast possible:
